A seriously good time in Crested Butte.
This Friday, January 31st, close down Elk Avenue in Crested Butte and join locals and tourists in the fun for the Alley Loop Pub Ski. Unlike any other pub crawl, participants cross-country ski across Elk Avenue to participating bars, answering trivia and racking up points to become champions of the Pub Ski. The Pub Ski is just a precursor to the more serious and challenging race, the Alley Loop Marathon. The Alley Loop Marathon, which is in its 34th year, will be held on the following morning, Saturday, February 1st. This is not the usual type of race for an American Birkebeiner Qualifier. Racers are encouraged to wear eccentric costumes while navigating over bridges and through the streets and alleyways of the town of Crested Butte.
