On May 28, Gunnison County reached Level Green on the “Coronameter,” meaning that the majority of COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted completely! No longer are capacity limits for public spaces and events necessary! No longer are people required to socially distance and remain 6-feet apart from one another! And no longer are people required to wear masks! However, even though the health orders have been lifted, Colorado Gov. Jared Polis recommends that anyone who is unvaccinated should continue to take precautions when out in public. Masks are still required in schools; at large events hosting more than 500 people; in healthcare facilities; when using any form of public transportation, such as airplanes and buses; and in any businesses or other settings requiring a mask. So, don’t go throwing those masks out yet, but at least we can all take joy in seeing each other smile again!
